Ingredients

  • 2 lb. chuck, cubed
  • 6 strips bacon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. tomato juice
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • parsley to taste
  • 5 to 6 medium potatoes, diced
  • 6 to 7 carrots, sliced

Instructions

  1. Brown the cubed chuck meat slowly in bacon drippings over medium heat.
  2. Place the browned meat in a crock-pot.
  3. Add sliced onion, Worcestershire sauce, tomato juice, water, bay leaves, parsley, diced potatoes, and sliced carrots to the crock-pot.
  4. Cook overnight until the meat and vegetables are tender.
