Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 slightly beaten eggs
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 oz can whole kernel corn
  • 1/2 cup medium coarse cracker crumbs
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1/4 cup diced pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp chopped canned pimento
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp rubbed sage

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef with the beaten eggs, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce; spread half of the mixture in an 8 1/4 x 1 3/4-inch round or an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients except tomato and cheese; spoon over the meat layer.
  3. Cover with the remaining meat mixture.
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 1 hour.
  5. In the last 5 minutes of baking, arrange tomatoes on top and sprinkle with cheese.
