Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 cup Kahlua
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt semi-sweet chocolate pieces and butter in a double boiler on low heat until smooth.
  2. Lightly beat the eggs in a separate bowl.
  3. Stir in light brown sugar, salt, vanilla, and Kahlua into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Add the beaten eggs to the mixture and combine well.
  5. Mix 1/2 cup chopped walnuts into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the unbaked pie shell.
  7. Spread remaining chopped walnuts on top of the pie.
  8. Bake in the center of the oven for approximately 45 to 60 minutes, until barely set in the center and the pastry is light golden brown.
  9. Cool the pie and then refrigerate before serving.
