- Brown chopped beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic in oil.
- If there is much excess water, pour it off.
- Mix soy sauce, sugar, toasted sesame seed, and red pepper to make the sauce.
- Pour the sauce over the meat mixture and simmer for one minute.
- Quarter the cabbage or cut into smaller pieces and remove the hard center.
- Spread the cabbage over the meat and cook, covered tightly, until the cabbage is firm-tender.
- Stir once during cooking.
- If desired, add cherry tomatoes a minute before serving.
