Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • dash seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and chopped onion together in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  2. Return the cooked beef and onion to the skillet.
  3. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, seasoned salt, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, cooked rice, and brown sugar to the skillet.
  4. Simmer the mixture for 1 minute to combine flavors.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  6. Top the mixture with slices of Velveeta cheese.
  7. Pour prepared cornbread batter over the cheese layer.
  8. Bake according to cornbread package directions until golden and cooked through.
  9. Serve hot, optionally with a salad.
