Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 lb. extra lean ground beef
  • 2-1/2 tsp. salt, divided
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce, divided
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 green peppers, sliced
  • 1 can (6 oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 4 medium tomatoes, cut in wedges

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, 1-1/2 teaspoons of salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of steak sauce. Form into several patties.
  2. In a large skillet, sear the patties on both sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat and add sliced onions, green peppers, drained mushrooms, 2 tablespoons of steak sauce, and 1 teaspoon of salt to the skillet.
  4. Simmer the vegetables until tender.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer until the meat is cooked through.
  6. Add the tomato wedges at the end, just to heat through.
