Tips & Substitutions

To save time, you can use pre-cooked frozen potatoes. Make sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly to ensure even heating throughout the casserole.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use different types of liver in this casserole?

Yes, you can substitute beef liver or chicken liver based on your preference. Each type will impart a slightly different flavor and texture, so choose one that you enjoy. Just ensure that the liver is cooked properly for safety.

What can I use instead of Worcestershire sauce?

If you don't have Worcestershire sauce on hand, you can replace it with soy sauce mixed with a splash of vinegar or lemon juice. This will mimic the umami flavor of Worcestershire sauce while adding a bit of acidity to balance the dish.

Is it possible to make this casserole ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can prepare the casserole up to the baking step and refrigerate it overnight. Just remember to cover it tightly with foil. When you're ready to bake, allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before placing it in the preheated oven.
