- Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C).
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and soda.
- Stir in sugar.
- Add sliced Crisco, butter, milk, vanilla, and eggs.
- Beat all ingredients at one time for 3 minutes.
- Scrape sides of the bowl and beat for 2 more minutes.
- Add chopped nuts and stir in well.
- Pour batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
- Bake for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
