Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup canned milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, and eggs until well combined.
  2. Stir in canned milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Add flour, salt, and baking soda to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Chill the dough for 1 hour.
  5. Drop teaspoons of dough onto a cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
  7. Allow cookies to cool before frosting.
