Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped fruit
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add chopped fruit and nuts to the flour mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then mix with milk and melted butter.
  4. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture, stirring just enough to moisten the dry ingredients.
  5. Pour the batter into a well-greased loaf pan and let stand for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
