Ingredients

  • 2 lb. whitefish fillets
  • 1/2 c. parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp. whole thyme
  • dash of mace
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 onions, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 c. mushrooms, sliced
  • pepper to taste
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the whitefish into serving pieces and place in a heavy pot with a tight lid.
  2. Add chopped onions, parsley, sliced mushrooms, whole thyme, salt, pepper, and spices to the pot.
  3. Pour enough red wine to almost cover the ingredients.
  4. Cover and simmer until the fish is cooked through and flavors meld, approximately 40 minutes.
