Ingredients

  • 6 hard long rolls
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup cream of tomato soup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut a slice from the top of each roll.
  2. Hollow out the center of each roll, reserving the crumbs for the meat mixture.
  3. Season softened butter with garlic salt and spread on the rolls.
  4. Saute chopped onion and green peppers in 1 tablespoon of butter.
  5. Soften bread crumbs in cream of tomato soup and slightly beaten egg.
  6. Mix the sautéed vegetables, bread crumbs, and meat mixture together.
  7. Fill the hollowed-out rolls with the meat and vegetable mixture.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes.
