Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the hamburger, torn bread pieces, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, milk, beaten egg, and salt.
  2. Pat the mixture into a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 40 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Drain excess grease from the meatloaf.
  5. Prepare mashed potatoes for serving.
  6. Pile the mashed potatoes on top of the cooked meatloaf.
  7. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the meatloaf.
  8. Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
  9. Bake until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
