Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • dash of allspice
  • pastry for 2 crust pie
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • dash of pepper
  • 12 oz frozen hash brown potatoes

Instructions

  1. Brown the hash brown potatoes thoroughly.
  2. Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry.
  3. Combine ground beef, milk, dry onion soup mix, pepper, and allspice in a bowl.
  4. Mix gently until well combined.
  5. Lightly pat the meat mixture into the pastry-lined pie plate.
  6. Top with the cooked hash brown potatoes.
  7. Place the top crust over the potatoes.
  8. Seal the edges with a flute and cut a design in the top of the pastry.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until the crust is browned.
  10. Serve warm, optionally with catsup.
