Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising meal
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup green peppers, chopped
  • 1 cup cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 can cream-style corn
  • 1/4 cup onions, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red hot pepper

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising meal, sugar, cooking oil, self-rising flour, milk, and egg; mix well.
  2. Add the chopped green peppers, shredded cheese, cream-style corn, chopped onions, and ground red hot pepper; mix until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  4. Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
