Ingredients

  • 3 c. cornbread mix
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. cream-style corn
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped hot pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine cornbread mix in a large bowl and add milk, stirring until well blended.
  2. Add beaten eggs, grated onion, sugar, cream-style corn, chopped hot pepper, and salad oil; mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake at 400°F for about 35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
