Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can chocolate syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine margarine, 1 cup sugar, and instant coffee until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Stir in chocolate syrup until well blended.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Fold the flour mixture into the batter until blended.
  6. Stir in 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts and vanilla.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan.
  8. Combine remaining sugar and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
  9. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until sides pull away from the pan.
  11. Garnish with whipped cream, orange slices, walnuts, and mint leaves.
