A rich, crunchy treat featuring salted caramel, chocolate, and nuts atop a buttery saltine cracker base, perfect for sharing at parties or as a sweet snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
  2. Butter the bottom of the foil-lined sheet.
  3. Arrange a layer of saltine crackers on the prepared sheet.
  4. Bring brown sugar and butter to a boil and cook for 2 1/2 minutes.
  5. Pour the hot sugar-butter mixture over the crackers and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel layer.
  7. Let stand for 5 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate smoothly over the surface.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  9. Cut into bars while warm.
