Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef round steak
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into 4 serving-size pieces and pound to 1/4-inch thickness.
  2. In a skillet, cook two pieces of meat at a time in hot oil for 2 minutes per side, then remove to a warm platter.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the sliced onion in margarine until just tender.
  4. Add the drained mushrooms, lemon juice, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and a dash of pepper to the skillet.
  5. Heat the mixture through, then spoon over the cooked meat.
  6. Serve garnished with parsley if desired.
