- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the cooking oil, sugar, molasses, and egg by hand.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, ginger, cloves, and salt.
- Add the dry mixture to the molasses mixture and blend well.
- Stir in the chopped walnuts.
- Roll the dough into balls the size of a walnut and flatten them thin on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until crispy, approximately 10 minutes.
