Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. small marshmallows
  • 1 c. light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Beat in whole egg and 2 egg yolks.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine the mixtures and blend.
  5. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  6. Sprinkle nuts, chocolate chips, and marshmallows over the batter.
  7. Beat 2 egg whites until very stiff.
  8. Fold in brown sugar.
  9. Spread over the cake.
  10. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
