Ingredients

  • 3 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, oil, honey, and salt together in a bowl. Let sit until bubbly.
  2. Add half of each type of flour to the mixture and stir in. Let sit while greasing three loaf pans.
  3. Add remaining flour to the mixture. Remove from bowl and knead about 80 times.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and keep in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, knead briefly to remove bubbles, then divide into three portions.
  6. Shape each portion into a loaf and place in prepared loaf pans. Let rise in the pans for 15 minutes.
  7. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes until golden brown.
