Instructions

  1. Crumble raw ground beef into a large pan.
  2. Add home canned tomato juice, chili powder, black pepper, sugar, and kidney beans to the pan.
  3. Simmer until the meat is cooked through.
  4. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and stir until foaming stops.
  5. Add 1/2 cup dry cracked wheat.
  6. Simmer the chili until flavors meld and wheat is cooked.
