Hot Beef Macaroni Salad

Ingredients
- 1 c. elbow macaroni ⓘ
- boiling water ⓘ
- 3/4 lb. extra lean ground beef ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1/4 c. minced onion ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour ⓘ
- 1/2 c. red cooking wine
- 1/2 c. chili sauce or ketchup
- 1 green pepper, seeded ⓘ
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. shredded lettuce ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. shredded cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni in boiling water for 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet with butter, minced onion, salt, and flour until fully cooked.
- Add red cooking wine, chili sauce or ketchup, diced green pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then toss with the cooked macaroni.
- Fold in shredded cheese, reserving some for garnish, and serve.
