Ingredients

  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. blackberry jam
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together.
  2. Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
  3. Cream oleo, sugar, blackberry jam, and eggs with a mixer.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk mixture.
  5. Bake in 3 greased and floured 9-inch pans at 350° for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Put frosting between layers and on the outside of the cake.
