Ingredients

  • 1 lb. small dried navy beans
  • 1 1/4 c. diced celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. garlic salad dressing
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 3/4 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • chopped red pimento to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the navy beans with seasoning and salt until tender, then drain.
  2. Combine the cooked beans with diced celery, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, and chopped red pimento.
  3. Mix garlic salad dressing, vinegar, sugar, dry mustard, garlic salt, paprika, and monosodium glutamate to make the dressing.
  4. Pour the dressing over the bean and vegetable mixture and stir well.
  5. Refrigerate the salad overnight before serving.
