Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 cup raw onion, chopped
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup carrots, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely diced
  • 1 cup raw potatoes, diced
  • 1 (16 1/2 oz.) can cream-style corn
  • 1 (16 1/2 oz.) can whole kernel corn
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté over low heat until golden.
  3. Add the hot water, diced carrots, celery, and potatoes.
  4. Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  5. Add the cream-style corn, whole kernel corn, milk, salt, and pepper.
  6. Continue to heat with occasional stirring until the chowder reaches boiling point.
  7. Serve hot!
