A delightful no-sugar fruit bar with rich flavors of dates, raisins, and prunes, complemented by nuts and optional spices, perfect for a wholesome snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup prunes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick butter or oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white flour

Instructions

  1. Boil dates, raisins, and prunes in water for 5 minutes.
  2. Add butter or oleo to the fruit mixture; set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix eggs, soda, vanilla, salt, flour, and chopped nuts.
  4. Add the cooked fruit mixture to the batter and combine well.
  5. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves if desired.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 7 x 11-inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool, then cut into bars.
