Noodles Lorraine is a rich, cheesy casserole combining egg noodles, crispy bacon, Swiss and Parmesan cheeses, and a hint of nutmeg, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. broad egg noodles
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 2 c. Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small pan, melt butter over medium heat and cook chopped onion until transparent.
  3. In a large bowl, beat eggs with salt and nutmeg.
  4. Add cooked noodles, melted butter and onion, crumbled bacon, diced Swiss cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese to the bowl. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a 2-quart baking dish.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
