Nut Tassies are delightful mini pastry cups filled with a rich brown sugar and egg mixture, topped with pecans, perfect for festive gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 1/2 lb. cream cheese
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Make the crust by mixing the margarine, cream cheese, and flour.
  2. Form the dough into small balls.
  3. Roll out each ball to line small muffin tins.
  4. Make the filling by beating the eggs, brown sugar, melted margarine, and vanilla together.
  5. Sprinkle a few chopped pecans into each shell, then fill with the sugar and egg mixture.
  6. Place a pecan on top of each if desired.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 250°F and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
