Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 4 cups cubed white bread
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Place raisins and 3/4 cup water in a small ovenware bowl. Cover with wax paper.
  2. Cook for 2 minutes; set aside.
  3. Place butter, chopped celery, and chopped onion in an ovenware dish.
  4. Cover with wax paper.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring 3 times.
  6. Stir in chicken broth, salt, sage, and pepper.
  7. Add bread cubes, chopped nuts, and raisin-water mixture.
  8. Toss lightly until evenly moist.
  9. Cover with wax paper.
  10. Continue cooking the stuffing for 7 minutes. Total cooking time is 19 minutes.
