Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (soft)
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup currants
  • 1 (12 oz.) package almond bark chips, melted
  • 1 cup walnuts, broken in large pieces

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Beat together butter and brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; add to the butter mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in oatmeal, walnuts, and currants until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
