Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 (12 oz.) package butterscotch flavored chips
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla extract, rolled oats, and butterscotch chips. Mix well.
  5. Turn the mixture into a lightly greased 15 1/4 x 10 1/2-inch baking pan.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes or until the center of the bars feels firm.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle with milk chocolate chips.
  8. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes until chips melt.
  9. Spread melted chips evenly over the bars.
  10. Cut into 2-inch squares and serve warm or cool.
