Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oleo, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large package yellow cake mix
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup raisins or cut-up dates
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Beat egg, water, oleo, shortening, sugar, cinnamon, and half of the cake mix until smooth.
  2. Stir in the remaining cake mix, oats, raisins, and nuts.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 375°F.
  6. Cool slightly before removing from the pan.
