Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked oatmeal
  • 1 3/4 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup oleo
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix uncooked oatmeal in boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Add brown sugar, white sugar, oleo, eggs, flour, baking soda, cocoa, and 1 cup of chocolate chips to the oatmeal mixture. Stir until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 11 x 7-inch baking pan.
  4. Sprinkle on top 1 cup of chocolate chips and nuts.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
