Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon, diced
  • 3 lb. beef, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. tomato puree
  • 2 tsp. beef base or granules
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 drop Tabasco sauce
  • 5 to 6 juniper berries
  • 2 cans beer

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon until half done; drain excess fat.
  2. Saute onions with bacon until transparent.
  3. Add beef and saute until all red is gone.
  4. Add minced garlic and flour until all flour is absorbed.
  5. Add tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, beef base, Tabasco, juniper berries, and beer.
  6. Stir and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat and let simmer for 45 to 60 minutes until meat is tender, or bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour until meat is tender.
