Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a cookie sheet.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  4. Add 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, hot water, milk, softened butter, and egg to the bowl.
  5. Blend on low speed until moistened; then beat for 2 minutes.
  6. By hand, stir in the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  7. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
