Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (1-inch thick)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • juice of 2 oranges
  • grated rind of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Dust the pork chops with flour seasoned with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown the chops in hot butter for about 5 minutes on each side.
  3. Combine brown sugar, grated orange rind, and orange juice; pour over the chops.
  4. Cover and reduce heat, then simmer for 40 minutes.
  5. Arrange orange slices on the meat and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Transfer chops and slices to a heated platter.
  7. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the sauce in the skillet, stir, and heat well.
  8. Pour the sauce over the meat before serving.
