Ingredients

  • 8 oz. Jones sausage
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. dry sherry
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tsp. grated ginger root
  • 1/2 (16 oz.) package wonton wrappers
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • sweet sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Cook ground pork until no pink remains; drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in shredded carrots, chopped water chestnuts, soy sauce, dry sherry, cornstarch, and grated ginger root.
  3. Mix the filling well to combine.
  4. Lay out one wonton wrapper, spoon 1 teaspoon of filling onto the center.
  5. Brush the edges of the wrapper with water, bring opposite corners together, and pinch to seal.
  6. Place sealed wontons on a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Repeat until all filling is used.
  8. Brush the tops of the wontons with melted margarine.
  9. Bake in a 375°F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the wontons are light brown.
