- Rinse and soak beans in water for 2 hours.
- Brown bacon, drain, and set aside.
- Mix all ingredients, including beans, bacon, catsup, mustard, onion, brown sugar, pepper, salt, soda, and molasses in a large roasting pan.
- Bake covered at 200°F (93°C) for 12 hours.
- Uncover and stir the beans.
- If beans are not soft, bake uncovered at 350°F (177°C) until soft.
