Creamy Parmesan creamed spinach combines tender spinach with rich cheese and a smooth sauce, perfect as a side dish for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion in oil until tender.
  2. Add thawed and drained spinach and cook until thoroughly heated.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons margarine or butter in a saucepan.
  4. Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually stir in milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese, spinach mixture, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  7. Serve immediately or place in a greased casserole to reheat later.
