Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into 6 servings and pound each to 1/2-inch thickness.
  2. Combine the beaten egg and milk in a bowl.
  3. Mix bread crumbs, salt, and pepper in a separate dish.
  4. Dip each steak into the egg mixture, coating well.
  5. Dredge the steaks with the seasoned bread crumbs.
  6. Brown the meat in oil in a skillet or ovenproof dish.
  7. Add water to the dish.
  8. Sprinkle oregano on top of the steaks.
  9. Place 2 teaspoons of grated Parmesan cheese on each steak.
  10. Combine salt and paprika to make a seasoning mixture.
  11. Sprinkle the salt and paprika mixture over the onions and steaks.
  12. Cover the dish tightly.
  13. Bake in a 325°F (160°C) oven for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours until tender.
