Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • chili powder to taste
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 can tomato paste
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • oregano (at least 1 tsp.)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet or pot.
  2. Add minced garlic, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, chopped celery, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add canned red kidney beans, stewed tomatoes, and tomato paste to the mixture.
  4. Simmer the chili for about 45 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
