Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix thoroughly the shortening, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, and egg until well combined.
  2. Blend in the remaining ingredients: flour, soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Shape the dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
