- Mix sugar, butter, egg yolk, vanilla, salt, and flour until well combined.
- Spread the mixture evenly on a greased cookie sheet.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg white and sugar until blended and slightly frothy.

- Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the top.
- Press the nuts lightly into the batter.
