Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. chuck roast, cubed
  • 4 medium onions
  • flour
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1 large can mushrooms
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 cans beef broth
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/2 can sweet pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Brown the cubed chuck roast in vegetable oil.
  2. Add sliced onions and cook until they begin to soften.
  3. Sprinkle enough flour on the meat to coat when mixed.
  4. Add all remaining ingredients except mushrooms.
  5. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender and the pepper flakes have completely softened.
  6. Add the canned mushrooms 1/2 hour before serving.
