Ingredients

  • 5 lb cooked, shelled shrimp
  • 5 onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 c vinegar
  • 2 c oil
  • 5 bay leaves
  • 1 c lemon juice
  • 4 Tbsp catsup
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp paprika
  • 5 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp cayenne

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix cooked, shelled shrimp and thinly sliced onions.
  2. Combine vinegar, oil, bay leaves, lemon juice, catsup, salt, paprika, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne in a saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and pour it over the shrimp and onions.
  4. Refrigerate and let marinate for several days, stirring several times each day.
  5. When ready to serve, remove shrimp with a slotted spoon and serve with toothpicks.
