Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 unbaked pie shell

Instructions

  1. Place sugar, melted butter or margarine, dark corn syrup, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  2. Mix well until combined.
  3. Stir in eggs and mix well.
  4. Add chopped pecans and mix until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the mixture into an unbaked pie shell.
  6. Bake in a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven for 1 hour or until the filling is firm.
  7. Allow the pie to cool, then slice and serve.
