Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground cooked ham
  • 3/4 c. uncooked oats
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 c. pineapple juice
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Combine ground cooked ham, uncooked oats, beaten eggs, brown sugar, and ground cloves, mixing well.
  2. Shape the mixture into balls and chill them.
  3. In a large frypan, lightly brown the ham balls in shortening.
  4. In a bowl, combine pineapple juice, water, lemon juice, brown sugar, and cornstarch, blending thoroughly.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the browned ham balls.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook on medium heat for about 1 hour, until heated through and glazed.
