A hearty and flavorful pork pizza loaf combines seasoned ground pork, melted mozzarella, and savory toppings inside French bread, perfect for a satisfying family dinner or casual gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb ground pork
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 (8 oz) can pizza sauce
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 can mushroom pieces
  • 1 medium ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground pork in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese to the cooked pork; mix well.
  3. Remove the inside of the halved French bread loaves, leaving a 1/2-inch shell.
  4. Spread the bread halves with pizza sauce, reserving 1/4 to 1/2 cup for later.
  5. Place the seasoned meat mixture on the bread and spread with the reserved sauce.
  6. Layer sliced onion, mushroom pieces, and ground pepper on top of the meat.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the toppings.
  8. Place the assembled loaves on a cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
